Description

Swarovski STC 17-40x56 Telescope - color green

Small size, excellent optics: thanks to its length of 258 mm (10.2 inches), the ATC spotting scope with oblique display fits into any backpack. Weighing only 970 g (34.2 oz), it is a top choice for treks in rough terrain and remote areas. The clever half-shell makes it easier to position on a surface without a tripod and allows the focus and zoom wheel to rotate unhindered at all times. Combined with the VPA 2, the ATC is ideal for digiscoping. The carrying strap provides the perfect finishing touch.

DIAMETER OF THE OBJECTIVE LENS
The diameter of the objective lens indicates how much light is allowed to enter the optic. This makes it an important factor in the performance of an instrument, for example at dusk. The larger the diameter of the objective lens, the more light the objective lens can capture. The darker the environment, the larger the diameter of the objective lens should be. Check the exact product name because the number after the "x" indicates the diameter of the objective lens in millimeters. For example, a device with the suffix 10x42 has an objective lens with a diameter of 42 mm.

VARIABLE MAGNIFICATION
Variable magnification allows flexible adjustment of magnification within a given range. Unlike fixed magnification, it allows you to zoom from the lower value to the higher value.
However, as the magnification increases, the field of view, i.e. the image area, becomes smaller. Check the exact product name, as the number before the "x" indicates the magnification. For example, 30-70x95 is a device with variable magnification from 30x to 70x.

FACE OF FIELD
The field of view describes the size of the image area that can be seen through the optics. This is specified in meters (width) at a distance of 1000 meters (m/1000 m), or feet (width) at a distance of 1000 yards (ft/1000 yds), or as an angle (degrees). The higher the magnification, the smaller the field of view. Binoculars have a large field of view, allowing you to see a large area. Spotting scopes have higher magnification, so the field of view is much smaller, but you can see more detail.

WEIGHT
Weight indicates how heavy or light the device is (in grams or ounces). Do you plan to hike a lot? Lightweight equipment is a priority in this case.
