Sitka Kelvin LT Hooded Jacket – lichtgewicht isolatie voor actieve jacht
Kleur Optifade Waterfowl Marsh
Warm enough for cold mornings, breathable enough to keep you moving. The Sitka Kelvin LT Hooded Jacket is designed for hunters who need insulation without the weight and bulk of a heavy winter jacket. With strategically placed PrimaLoft® Silver insulation, breathable STORMFLEECE™ panels, and a durable 27D ripstop polyester outer fabric, this technical hunting jacket combines warmth, freedom of movement, and protection in one versatile layer.
Whereas traditional insulated jackets quickly become too warm and stuffy during intense activity, the Kelvin LT is designed for dynamic use. Whether you’re out on an active day of hunting, exploring new terrain, or spending a cold morning by the water, the jacket moves with your body and allows excess heat to escape where needed.
PrimaLoft Silver insulation: warmth where you need it
The PrimaLoft® Silver insulation is distributed according to the body-mapped principle. Sitka deliberately does not use the same amount of insulation material everywhere:
- 60 g PrimaLoft® Silver around the torso
- 40 g PrimaLoft® Silver in the sleeves and hood
This provides extra insulation for the core, while the reduced volume around the arms and shoulders allows for greater freedom of movement.
You’ll notice the difference when shouldering a rifle, climbing, using binoculars, or performing other movements where a thick layer of insulation around the arms can actually get in the way.
PrimaLoft® also offers an important practical advantage when used in changeable weather: the synthetic insulation retains heat even in damp conditions.
STORMFLEECE for greater breathability and freedom of movement
Insulation is only effective when it matches the intensity of the activity. That’s why Sitka has equipped the Kelvin LT with STORMFLEECE™ panels on the sides and under the arms.
These zones improve breathability in areas where a lot of heat builds up during physical activity. At the same time, the flexible panels provide extra freedom of movement.
Whether you’re on a strenuous climb to a hunting blind, moving through difficult terrain, or actively driving game, you won’t have to take the jacket off immediately as soon as the exertion increases.
Made for hunters who are always on the move
The combination of PrimaLoft and STORMFLEECE makes the Kelvin LT particularly well-suited for situations that alternate between physical activity and rest.
Consider, for example, a cold morning when you walk to the hunting location, spend a long time observing, and then have to search the terrain again. It is precisely in these situations that a heavy winter jacket is often too warm while walking, while a thin fleece does not provide enough protection when you are standing still.
The Kelvin LT fills that gap perfectly.
27D ripstop polyester with a water-repellent DWR finish
The outer shell is made of 27D ripstop polyester. The ripstop construction combines a lightweight design with greater resistance to damage than a conventional lightweight fabric.
The outer fabric is also treated with a water-repellent DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. This allows light rain and moisture to roll off the fabric more easily.
This makes the Kelvin LT ideal for cold, damp mornings, light precipitation, and changing conditions in the field.
Please note: The DWR treatment makes the jacket water-repellent, but it is not the same as a fully waterproof rain jacket or hardshell.
Ideal for spring and fall
The Sitka Kelvin LT Hooded Jacket is perfect for the transitional seasons. When the temperature is low in the morning but rises during the day, efficient, breathable insulation is more useful than a heavy winter jacket.
On an early morning hunt, the Kelvin LT provides warmth when you set out and while you're on the lookout, while the breathable panels help regulate your temperature as you become more active later on.
It’s also a great option as a compact insulating layer in colder conditions.
Designed as part of a technical layering system
Thanks to its regular fit and smooth outer fabric, the Kelvin LT pairs easily with other layers of clothing.
Wear it over a technical base layer or fleece when you need extra warmth. In rain, snow, or harsher weather conditions, you can wear a suitable waterproof shell over it.
The smooth fabric prevents unnecessary friction between the different layers. This makes it easier to put on and take off and supports freedom of movement.
Full hood with easy adjustment
The full-coverage hood protects the head and neck and can be adjusted using a single adjustment system.
By incorporating 40 g of PrimaLoft Silver into the hood as well, heat loss around the head is minimized without adding unnecessary bulk.
This is especially nice during cold stakeouts or when the temperature drops unexpectedly.
Low cuffs for easy use with gloves
The internally pleated, low-profile cuffs fit comfortably around the wrists without creating a bulky transition.
This makes it easier to wear gloves over or against the cuffs. Even when the Kelvin LT is worn under an outer jacket, the bulk around the wrists remains minimal.
The adjustable bottom hem allows you to cinch the jacket tighter around the body at the bottom, helping to better retain heat.
High-set handwarmer pockets
The zippered handwarmer pockets are intentionally placed high on the body. This ensures they remain easily accessible when you’re wearing a bib, waders, or other gear that might partially block lower-placed jacket pockets.
They also provide a warm place for your hands during cold spells.
Kelvin LT for hunting, scouting, and active outdoor use
The strength of the Kelvin LT lies in its versatility. This isn’t an extremely thick jacket designed for sitting still for long periods in severe cold, but rather a technical, lightweight insulated jacket for active conditions.
It is particularly well-suited for:
- Active hunting in the spring and fall
- Cold mornings while hunting
- Driven hunts and field work
- Scouting and Wildlife Observation
- mountainous and hilly terrain
- Hiking and Trekking
- Fishing and Wading
- Use as an insulating midlayer in colder temperatures
Sitka Kelvin LT vs. a Traditional Insulated Jacket
A simple lined jacket may be warm, but that doesn’t automatically mean it’s suitable for active hunting.
In the Kelvin LT, Sitka combines different materials based on their function. More PrimaLoft around the torso for warmth, less insulation around the arms for freedom of movement, and STORMFLEECE in strategic areas for ventilation and flexibility.
This means we don’t just look at how much insulation a jacket has, but especially at where and when that insulation is needed.
The result is less excess material and a jacket that adapts significantly better to active movement.

For which hunter is the Kelvin LT the right choice?
The Sitka Kelvin LT Hooded Jacket is particularly appealing to hunters who are constantly on the move and are looking for an insulated jacket that is not only warm but also breathable and allows for complete freedom of movement.
For those who spend most of their time sitting still during the harsh winter cold, a heavier, more insulated jacket offers more warmth. But during active hunting, with fluctuating temperatures and cold mornings, the Kelvin LT’s light weight and targeted insulation are a major advantage.
This makes it a particularly versatile Sitka hunting jacket for spring and fall, which can also be used as an excellent insulating layer in a complete clothing system during colder conditions.
Buy the Sitka Kelvin LT Hooded Jacket
The Sitka Kelvin LT Hooded Jacket is designed for situations where warmth alone isn’t enough. An active hunter needs insulation that works in harmony with the body: retaining heat during rest, wicking away excess heat during exertion, and providing sufficient freedom of movement when quick action is required.
Featuring PrimaLoft® Silver, STORMFLEECE™, 27D ripstop polyester, and a water-repellent DWR finish, Sitka offers a technical insulated jacket that’s perfect for intense hunting days and changing weather conditions.
Lightweight when you're on the move. Warm when you stop. Engineered for serious use in the field.
