ProDecoys Canadian Goose Silhouette Decoys (set of 12)

Designed for hunters who want to make the difference between a bird landing or flying past from a distance

There is one constant in the behavior of Canada geese: they land only where the flock looks convincing. Not just in terms of volume, but especially in terms of posture, spread, and visual credibility. The Prodecoys Canadian goose silhouette decoys are designed to influence precisely that moment of decision—with minimal logistics and maximum visual impact in the field.

Visual peer pressure that works from a distance

Silhouette decoys are not a replacement for full-body decoys, but rather a tool to speed up the process of convincing birds to land. Their flat profile and sharp photo print create a realistic group image from a distance, which—especially when Canadian geese are approaching—triggers their confidence to land.

While inexpensive alternatives often look flat, shiny, or unnatural, these silhouette decoys are designed with contrast, posture, and visibility in open fields as key considerations. The white-accented rear, in particular, plays a crucial role here: it catches light and movement in a way that mimics natural behavior in open fields and grasslands.

Realistic, life-size Canadian goose decoy

Each decoy is based on a true-to-scale, natural silhouette of the Canada goose. The high-quality photo print on waterproof material retains its sharpness, even with heavy use in wet or muddy conditions.

The details are not decorative, but functional:

• Natural feather coloring for recognition at medium range
• Subtle contrast gradient to prevent reflections in changing light conditions
• Strong white accent on the back for an extra visual “trigger” when flocks approach

This is exactly the difference between decoys that are simply present and decoys that are actually noticed by game.

Tactical use in realistic hunting situations

This set of 12 is designed as a strategic reinforcement within an existing setup, not as a standalone system.

Proven effective in practice for:

• Open polder landscape where geese first fly high overhead and don’t make their decision until late
• Heavily hunted areas where geese are highly sensitive to unnatural density
• Combined fields where distance and sightlines vary due to ditches and trenches
• Situations with strong winds, where silhouettes remain more easily recognizable than 3D shapes

Combining 8 foraging and 4 alert postures creates a natural sense of tension within the group—exactly what Canadian geese recognize as a safe landing zone.

Convenient transport and quick deployment in the field

Hunting efficiency begins before the first shot is fired. The ultra-thin design makes these silhouette decoys extremely compact and quick to set up.

When used with a windsock decoy bag, up to 36 decoys can be transported safely without ground stakes causing damage or getting in the way. This makes quick moves between hunting plots or in response to changing wind directions practical and hassle-free.

Durable material for intensive seasonal use

The water-resistant material can withstand prolonged exposure to rain, cold, and muddy surfaces. The double ground spike design ensures that each decoy remains stable, even with fluctuating wind pressure in open landscapes.

While cheaper silhouette sets often warp, discolor, or come apart, this Prodecoys model is built for repeated, intensive use throughout the entire goose hunting season.

Optimal results when used in combination with full-body decoys

This set truly shines when used in combination with the Prodecoys Ultralight or Elite series of Canadian goose decoys. The silhouette decoys complement the setup by adding width and visual mass without adding extra weight or complexity.

This creates a layered field view:

• Full-body decoys for a realistic 3D presence up close
• Silhouette decoys for long-distance recognition and a group effect

Together, they reinforce the natural “confidence to land” needed to actually get wary Canadian geese to land.
