LR DOT RETICLE
The LR Dot reticle was designed around a typical centerfire cartridge, such as the .308 Winchester, which is popular worldwide for hunting moderately large game. It is also suitable for some of the faster bullets used for hunting foxes and similar game. Many hunters prefer to use the same magnification for their rifle scope as they do for their binoculars, so the LR Dot reticle marks are designed with 8x magnification.
This design also makes it suitable for European hunters who may prefer a metric range of distances and therefore zero their rifle at 100 meters on the central reticle and use the lower aiming points for 200, 300, 400, and 500 meters. A helpful tip: at 8× magnification, the thick posts to the right and left of the center dot would align with the body length of a roe deer at 100 yds—a sizeable animal to hunt with this reticle.
