FOR Hunter Tuskler Tusk Filling Compound: The Perfect Solution for Hunting Trophies

After boar hunting, wild boar tusks are the most sought-after hunting trophies. Whether it is the tusks of male boars (keiler) or the hooks of female boars (bachen), correctly prepared and presented they form beautiful decorative trophies.

What is Tuskler?

TUSKLER consists of a two-component filler specially designed for the preparation of boar trophies. After curing, TUSKLER is solid and volume-stable, preventing tusks and hooks from tearing or cracking. Thanks to its easy application and natural color, it delivers perfect results. Depending on size, one package is sufficient for up to 10 pairs of beetle tusks.

Contents of the TUSKLER Filling Compound Set:

  • Two component filling compound (2 x 100 ml)
  • A measuring cup
  • One pair of rubber gloves
  • A pack of clay
  • A wooden stirring stick

Instructions for Filling Boar Tusks:

Preparation:

  1. Check the tusks of the wild boar for cracks. If there are cracks, cover them with transparent tape. Then wrap the tusks completely in painter's tape, starting at the tip. Make sure the tusks are dry and grease-free.
  2. Before mixing the filling compound, we recommend measuring the internal volume of the tusks with fine sand and the measuring cup (do not use water!). Then place the tusks in a container with sand or fix them with clay. Check carefully that the tusks are standing firmly.
  3. Prepare the required amount of filling compound. Pour components A and B in a 1:1 ratio into the measuring cup (close the bottles immediately after pouring).
  4. Mix quickly but thoroughly.
  5. Pour the mixture into the tusks. Depending on the temperature, the mixture can be processed for about three to five minutes. Then let the filling compound harden for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the painter's tape from the tusks. The tusks with the hardened filling compound can now be mounted on a trophy plate or for taxidermy.

Note: Do not use at elevated humidity and temperatures above 30°C. Avoid contact with water. Store unopened containers at room temperature in a dry place, out of the reach of children.

Information about Tusks of Wild Boar (Gewaff)

There are several terms for the popular hunting trophies of wild boar. Firstly, one distinguishes between the tusks of female boars (bachen) and male boars (keilers), and secondly between the upper and lower jaws. Here is an overview of the terms:

  • Lower jaw keiler: weapons, guns (length up to 20 cm, visible up to about 10 cm)
  • Upper jaw keiler: haderer, hauer
  • Upper and lower jaw bache: hooks
