The DJ Duck Call Whistle Sonderman 66 is an absolute classic among duck call whistles and is praised worldwide for its natural sound and ease of use. This iconic duck call was designed in honor of Al Sonderman, a pioneer in the development of modern duck call flutes. Al Sonderman worked at Illinois River Calls since 1929 and played a key role in the evolution of decoy flutes as we know them today.
The Sonderman 66 model was first introduced in 1960 and has been among the world's best-selling and most widely used duck call flutes ever since. Not because of marketing, but purely because of performance in the field.
The Sonderman 66 is based on a classic design that has proven its worth for decades. The internal toneboard and air chamber are tuned so that the flute addresses easily and produces a stable sound.
This duck call whistle effortlessly emulates realistic duck sounds, including:
soft contact calls
convincing feeding calls
powerful come-back calls
The warm, full tone perfectly matches the natural voice of mallards, increasing the confidence of flying birds.
The DJ Sonderman 66 offers great control over pitch and volume. This makes the whistle suitable for both calm situations on still water and windy conditions where extra carrying power is needed.
The DJ Sonderman 66 is versatile and suitable for virtually all forms of duck hunting:
Lures ducks on ponds, lakes and rivers
Hunting from the duck decoy or from cover
Both short range luring and attracting ducks at greater distances
Its easy approachability makes this decoy whistle ideal for novice hunters, while its sound capabilities also offer experienced duck hunters plenty of finesse and variety.
Where many modern duck call whistles are heavily focused on volume or aggressive tones, the Sonderman 66 excels in balance and realism. This model:
Is less "shrill" than many contemporary duck calls
remains stable under varying air pressure
Requires less technique to sound good
These very features have made the Sonderman 66 a favorite among traditional and modern duck hunters for decades.
Proven design with a long hunting tradition
Reliable performance in a variety of weather conditions
Comfortable to use, even for prolonged hunting
Classic character that never goes out of style
Very good value for money for a premium duck call
The DJ Duck Call Whistle Sonderman 66 is not just another duck call whistle, but a piece of hunting history with an unparalleled reputation. Looking for a reliable, natural-looking and versatile duck call that has proven its worth for decades? Then the Sonderman 66 is an excellent choice.
