AGM PVS-14 Tactical Residual Light Amplifier Gen 2+ (Photonis Commercial) Green

The AGM PVS-14 is among the best monocular night vision devices available on the market. The PVS-14 features a 26mm lens with a wide field of view of 40 degrees and can focus as close as 25 cm. The optical magnification is 1x, but optional 3x or 5x optical magnification lenses are also available.

Quality of the picture tube

This version of the PVS-14 features a Gen 2+ PHOTONIS COMMERCIAL picture tube in Green Phosphor (traditional night vision green). The picture tube has an average FOM of 1300-1600. FOM stands for Figure of Merit and indicates the overall performance of a picture tube. The higher the FOM, the higher the brightness and sharpness (and the less noise).

Photonis image tubes are among the best on the market and, in terms of quality, are in a league of their own compared to the average Gen 2+ image tube. For this reason, you can operate for long periods without an infrared illuminator, as the image intensifier tube can convert even the slightest amount of ambient light into a razor-sharp visual image. This makes these night vision devices ideal for airsoft, tactical applications, or MIL-SIMs. With cheaper, digital night vision devices, you always have to use IR illuminators, which means you’re immediately visible to your opponents or enemies. If you really need IR light (e.g., in a dark room without any ambient light), you can, of course, simply turn on the IR illuminator. This is located on the PVS-14.

Helmet mounting and hands free use

Using optionally available mounts, you can attach the PVS-14 to various types of helmets. This product also comes standard with a headset (goggle kit). This allows you to secure the night vision device to your head, keeping your hands free. The goggle kit features a flip-up system that allows you to easily and safely “flip” the night vision device up, where it remains securely in place. The head system features adjustable, comfortable head straps and a chin guard with a built-in cushion.

Application AGM PVS-14

The AGM PVS-14 is among the best night vision goggles on the market, making it an excellent choice for professionals and demanding enthusiasts. Think for example of airsoft, tactical applications, hunting, astronomy, survival or nature observations. With the right accessories, you can attach the scope to a helmet or use it hands-free using the included headset. Also included is a front protective lens, which protects the lens from airsoft balls, for example.

This night vision device is equipped with a residual light-amplifying image tube, so you cannot use it during the day . The device will automatically shut off when there is too much light. The PVS-14 is also available in White Phosphor and with a Photonis ECHO image intensifier tube (see optional accessories).
