The NVG40 from American AGM Global Vision is a binocular residual light intensifier from the absolute top segment. The night scope is designed to MIL-spec properties and is the solution for tactical applications, professional users, airsofters and any other demanding enthusiast. The device is only 11.5 cm long, weighs less than 650 grams and gives you the ability to adjust the pupil distance. This makes the AGM NVG40 ideal for use as night vision goggles.
The residual light amplifier features two Gen2+ PHOTONIS Commercial image tubes in Green Phosphor (P43). These have a FOM (Figure of Merit) of 1400-1800 and a resolution of 51-64 lp/mm. The tactical night scope has clean tubes, so there are no green "spots" visible in the image. This allows you to see your surroundings in razor-sharp, navy-green color. The NVG40 is also available in White Phosphor, with a Photonis ECHO image tube or with a 51-degree field of view.
The night scope has an optical 1x magnification, a 26mm objective lens and focuses from 25cm. With a large 40-degree field of view, you can see much of the environment at a glance and easily keep moving targets in view. Both lenses are fully multi-coated to protect against scratches and dirt.
The residual light intensifier has a built-in infrared emitter to see even when there is no light at all. This can be useful, for example, when you are in a dark room without windows and you want to be able to read texts. You can set the IR Illuminator in terms of power in two levels. On the top of the body is an NVG interface, which allows you to connect the viewer to a helmet or goggle kit for hands-free use. Power is supplied by the included CR123 battery (additional batteries can be found in optional accessories). One battery allows you to use the viewer for up to 20 hours.
Because a binocular night scope has two image tubes, it captures twice as much light as a monocular or bi-ocular. This results in a much higher light output. This not only gives you a very clear image, but you can also use the binocular in situations where there is virtually no light. A binocular also has the advantage that it is also comfortable for prolonged, continuous use. This is because you do not have to constantly squeeze one eye shut, as is the case with a monocular.
The AGM NVG40 is all you need when you are looking for the best that night vision has to offer. This makes it suitable for professionals and tactical applications. But it is also an excellent choice for use during hunting, security or for the discerning private user.
Because this scope is equipped with a residual light-amplifying image tube, you cannot use the device during the day. The device will automatically turn off when too much light is present.
